My name is Devika Patel, and I am a graduate of the M.S. Community Health and Prevention Research program at Stanford's School of Medicine. I received my B.S. degree in product design engineering with Honors in Education (also at Stanford).
I am currently a medical student and the former Design Director at The Better Lab, an academic research center utilizing human-centered design and mixed methods research to solve pressing healthcare challenges facing vulnerable populations.
My work has been featured in Fast Company, where we won an Innovation by Design Honorable Mention. I've presented my work at conferences, such as American Public Health Association. My team and I have published over 11 peer-reviewed publications on utilizing human-centered design to solve public health challenges.
My mission in life is to understand, research, and design healthcare interventions and technologies that profoundly impact the health of all people. I believe everyone deserves good design, backed with robust research.
In my spare time, I love to read, embroider, and take long walks through the city of San Francisco and beyond.
